What is PE tarpaulin?
PE tarpaulin is a woven high-density polyethylene fabric laminated on both sides to create a lightweight waterproof sheet. Tarpaulin performance depends on more than the material name. Base yarn strength, coating or proofing, total weight, seam construction and fixing details determine whether the finished cover suits temporary, repeated or specialist duty. Water, UV, heat and weather exposure
UAE conditions combine intense sunlight, high surface temperatures, dust, humidity, wind and occasional heavy rain. PE is waterproof, and UV-stabilised grades are intended for outdoor use, but continuous harsh sun and strong wind shorten service life. No flexible cover lasts indefinitely: UV exposure gradually reduces strength, and loose flapping accelerates damage. Correct slope, tension, drainage, edge protection and routine inspection are essential to achieve the best service life.
